The Easy Child - I adapted to change, such as new food or a new school quickly. I was usually in a good mood and smiled often. I went to bed easily and hardly cried.
Write a personal journal (one to two pages) about why stages #5 and #6 of Erikson’s eight stages of personality development may be the highest hurdles to jump in life. Think about your junior high and high school years and what’s to come in your post—high school years. Include physical, emotional, and cognitive aspects, and explain how these all fit into Erikson’s stages #5 and #6.
In Erikson's stages of life, level 5 and 6 are the hardest to overcome. This is from the age of 12-25. People are experiencing school, friends and their love life. In their middle school days, they are figuring out who they are and who they want to be. They are choosing friends that will play a major roll on their life. Kids in this stage are effected by their friends and are exposed to peer pressure.
Then they move up to high school, this is where teens start dating and getting more involved with relationships. They experience heartbreaks and what it means to be in a relationship. In high school, they are now stressing out about their future. They have to start choosing their colleges, jobs, living and how to start being more responsible. These years are crucial in becoming an adult.
Once they leave the nest they are now responsible for everything and they don't need to rely on their parents to do everything for them. People in this stage now start dating seriously and settling down. This becomes stressful for them. They are not used to being responsible for themselves and other people. People don't realize that these stages are the hardest years of our lives. In these years we need support and help from our love ones. Personally I have grown up a lot since middle school and I will continue to grow up for many more years.
